How to make your first mother’s day special

1. Let her sleep in

Chances are she would love the opportunity to grab a few extra hours of sleep and lie in on Mothers day. Why not grab a bottle and take the little one out for a walk? If you have other children make sure they join you so that mum can enjoy her sleep in without interruption.

2. Write her a card

Write a heartfelt card to the wonderful woman that brought your darling children into the world. Take your time to show her how much you really care about her and how she has grown into a fantastic mother by writing it down. With life being so hectic, we can often forget to tell our loved ones truly how much they mean to us. So pull out all the stops on her first mothers day and pour your heart out into a lovely card that she will cherish for a lifetime.

3. Make sure she has as little to do as possible

Understandably within reason, as she will still have to feed the baby. Make sure that on her first mothers day she can finally put her feet up. This means that you’ll have to put the laundry away, be on nappy changing duty and clean up after everyone. Allowing her to relax throughout the day will be truly appreciated by any new mum. Bonus points if you get done those tasks that you’ve been putting off for ages, like putting up the new baby changing table or cleaning out her car.

4. Pamper her

This one can go hand in hand with the above. Whether it be that you’ve booked her a spa session or even purchased some at home luxury bath goods this mothers day, allowing her the time to pamper herself is a luxury in itself. Run her a bath, surrounding it with her favourite candles and perhaps some soothing background music and let her have some uninterrupted “me” time. Make sure she has everything she needs during her pamper session and disappear for a few hours so she can finally unwind.

We hope this has provided some much-needed inspiration and advice on how to celebrate mothers day this year. If mum-to-be is still expecting, head over to our baby jewellery collection to find the perfect gift to welcome a newborn into the family.
