1. Mama Mio Bloomin’ Lovely Pamper Pack, £42.50
If you can’t get to the spa, bring the spa to you. This luxury bath and skin set contains everything you need to unwind. Soak away your worries and follow by massaging your limbs until they’re feeling buttery soft. This set is safe to use during pregnancy and also whilst breastfeeding, so will still be handy once the baby is born.
2. Purflo Easy Breathing Pregnancy Pillow £65.00
We know how hard it can be to get comfortable when you’re growing a tiny human inside you. Help her get a good night’s sleep with the help of a pregnancy pillow. The Independent rated this number one in terms of comfortability and affordability. The ergonomically curved design helped with back support throughout the day and its breathable fabric meant it was comfortable to sleep with during the night. The pillow can also be used for breastfeeding support and tummy time once your little one arrives.
Gift any new or expecting mum this beautiful jewellery set meant to be shared with her newborn. A beautiful diamond locket can be worn by mother and hold two tiny photos of whatever she holds dear to her, whether that be her partner or her ever-growing family. Go that extra mile and have it personalised with the child’s initial or name engraved on the back. The set also contains a matching sterling silver Forever Diamond Baby bangle that can be engraved with your little one’s name on it, and will become the ultimate keepsake as you look back on it and reminisce about how small they were when born.
5. Bloom & Wild Flower Subscription starting from £59.50
What woman doesn’t love to receive flowers? If she has a baby on the way or has just given birth, the home can often go a little neglected. Why not push the ever-growing laundry pile to the side and make way for a beautiful bouquet of flowers? Starting from three months, this flower subscription is a beautiful ongoing gift idea for a new mum and a perfect way to spread a little joy and show her you’re still thinking about her.
5. Elvie Pump £249
For any breastfeeding mums or mums-to-be, the Elvie breast pump is the most sought after because of its versatility. As it’s cordless, silent and wearable, it means that you’re no longer tethered to a plug socket or unable to do anything else whilst pumping. This means you can go about your day and pump anywhere, and with the neverending list of tasks to complete as a new mother, we know this is something that is highly appreciated. The Evie Pump also comes with a handy app that allows you to track and monitor milk volume in real time, and also track pumping history for each breast and control the pump remotely.
6. Birthstone Identity Bracelet £66
If she’s a mum-to-be soon, then why not gift her this sentimental birthstone identity bracelet. Featuring a genuine birthstone that can be representative of the baby’s birth month, the sterling silver bracelet can also be personalised to make it truly unique. Engrave the baby’s name, a special date or a meaningful word and create a sophisticated gift that mum can later pass down to her newborn when she’s ready. Molly Brown London also offers a range of other birthstone jewellery that would be perfect for gifting a mum or mum-to-be as her family grows and she wants to hold them near with beautiful pieces of jewellery.
How to make your first mother’s day special
1. Let her sleep in
Chances are she would love the opportunity to grab a few extra hours of sleep and lie in on Mothers day. Why not grab a bottle and take the little one out for a walk? If you have other children make sure they join you so that mum can enjoy her sleep in without interruption.
2. Write her a card
Write a heartfelt card to the wonderful woman that brought your darling children into the world. Take your time to show her how much you really care about her and how she has grown into a fantastic mother by writing it down. With life being so hectic, we can often forget to tell our loved ones truly how much they mean to us. So pull out all the stops on her first mothers day and pour your heart out into a lovely card that she will cherish for a lifetime.
3. Make sure she has as little to do as possible
Understandably within reason, as she will still have to feed the baby. Make sure that on her first mothers day she can finally put her feet up. This means that you’ll have to put the laundry away, be on nappy changing duty and clean up after everyone. Allowing her to relax throughout the day will be truly appreciated by any new mum. Bonus points if you get done those tasks that you’ve been putting off for ages, like putting up the new baby changing table or cleaning out her car.
4. Pamper her
This one can go hand in hand with the above. Whether it be that you’ve booked her a spa session or even purchased some at home luxury bath goods this mothers day, allowing her the time to pamper herself is a luxury in itself. Run her a bath, surrounding it with her favourite candles and perhaps some soothing background music and let her have some uninterrupted “me” time. Make sure she has everything she needs during her pamper session and disappear for a few hours so she can finally unwind.
We hope this has provided some much-needed inspiration and advice on how to celebrate mothers day this year. If mum-to-be is still expecting, head over to our baby jewellery collection to find the perfect gift to welcome a newborn into the family.
